Welcome to Our Troop!
There is a wide world for you to explore in Troop 412 and I’m excited to have the opportunity to support you along the many great adventures during your Scouting journey. In Troop 412 we strive for every scout to achieve the aims of Scouting: character development, citizenship training, leadership, and mental and physical fitness.
Troop 412 is a Scout lead troop. This means scouts are in-charge, not the adults. Scouts are assigned to a Patrol led by a Patrol Leader and the patrols are led by the Senior Patrol Leader of our Troop. Together the Patrol Leaders and the Senior Patrol Leader make up the Patrol Leader Council, which determines our Troop activities and calendar. Scouts in our troop can expect to discover more about themselves, the world around them, and how they can make a difference.
A group of dedicated adult leaders serving as Assistant Scoutmasters, Merit Badge Counsellors and Committee Members work behinds the scenes to support the scouts and ensure all that we do is safe. I encourage you to engage with each of the adult leaders as they offer a valuable insights into life and in scouting.
A scout’s journey is an adventure whether sharpening an axe, building a fire, camping under the starry expanse, serving food to the hungry, or completing the mile swim, or leading others. A Scout can expect to progress at their own pace through a series of surmountable obstacles and be rewarded for each achievement. Now is a great time to be a scout and I look forward to sharing the scouting journey with you.
