Message from Senior Patrol Leader

To all scouts and friends of scouting: 

My name is Ryan, and I am the Senior Patrol Leader as of fall 2024. Scouting is a youth-led education and leadership program designed to give scouts experience on practical life skills such as problem solving and ethical decision making. As your SPL, I will primarily focus on planning fun and engaging campouts and events that also challenge us, teach us new skills, and bring us closer together as a unit. I envision campouts that will be educational, interactive, and ingrained in our memories. This year, I aim to provide scouts the ability to give back to their community through service.

Besides the basic aspects of scouting, I also want to cultivate an unending sense of curiosity and explore each scout’s interests through exploring the wilderness and completing different merit badges. It is my hope that through scouting, our members will have a little light shed on the many wonders of this world, that they may have a deeper understanding of what they want to do when they grow up.

In my time as SPL, I will try my best to be a servant leader and to lead the PLC in the direction of servant leadership - putting the needs of the troop and its members before our own. I will be accessible, approachable, and always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it's guiding a new scout through their first campout or just being available for any questions, so feel free to contact me at any time.
